I was staying in Juan Dolio for a few days in early December. H2O diving and Vic were recommended to me.
The day trip to Catalina Island was very enjoyable, the highlight of this trip. Vic is very informed and well-prepared. The drive to La Romana was a little long but the people were all nice. I was the only diver of the group and hadn't seen this website, so I didn't really know what to expect - especially with a large boat full of
people (not all divers). The dives were quite spectacular, as mentioned The Wall and The Aquarium are truly
excellent dive sites. Catalina Island is gorgeous and I wish I'd had more time to relax there, But the boat has
quite a trip back to La Romana, especially when there are rough seas. Everyone had a good time and I would
recommend this trip to all adventurous divers or others looking for a great, fun excursion.

The mission:  72 hours in Dominican Republic, one red eye delayed flight from NYC and 48 hours to get 4 dives in at Catalina Island

Conclusion? Mission easily accomplished thanks to H20 diving.

We weren't quite sure to expect when we arrived over 30 minutes late to our hotel on Saturday morning after an evening of delayed flights, slow rental car places and frantic driving. But once we met Vic and Brett at the lobby of our hotel, everything ran smoothly and went off without a hitch.

Prior to the trip, we sent off emails to 7-8 dive shops in the Juan Dolio area asking for information and prices. Of them all, Vic was the best at responding to our multiple questions and he was able to formulate a diving plan that fit our tight schedule. Once there, they explained each aspect of the dives and the skill sets carefully and provided that special mix of 'friendly laid-back instructor' that we were looking for. During our dives at Catalina at the 'Wall' and the 'Aquarium', we felt extremely safe and comfortable. The beach at Catalina was great (especially the copious amount of food--Vic and Brett taught us the "two-plate" technique).  Our only regret is that we didn't get to check out the Kidd dive and missed out on the cliff jumping.

If you're looking for a group cattle call where everyone is a number and you can barely see the instructor, then look elsewhere. If you want personalized attention, a customized and adaptable dive plan and a great experience with clear professionals, check out H20 diving.

Thanks again for a fantastic time, and we'll definitely look you up next time we're in the Dominican Republic
